I actually had something similar like that happen to me during one of my astral projecting.

It was the night before Halloween and I saw some orange eyes looking at me whenever I closed my eyes. It was a snake I found out and I was lead down a lit tunnel and had to fight her. I used white light and ice against her and soon I won. It was very scary, and very painful.

I doubt I would have experienced the snakes if I had no idea that it was a snake hole. I could be wrong, though.

Wandering in the wild out here you need to keep an awareness of the potential for snake encounters. Respect brother rattlesnake, or pay the price for your insolence.

It was very interesting, and I'd try other types of holes to see what effect they have.

Usually I just jump off a cliff from the natural world and fall into oblivion. Jumping from a skyscraper might be an interesting perspective to start with, also.

Great post. I love the idea in general of going into the hole. From a Shamanistic Perspective it's an excellent practice, but from a more general stand point it's a great way to enter into a trance, even without the drums. I'm somewhat curious to know if you would have experienced the same thing without knowing what originally lived in that particular hole.

I'm sure it doesn't matter either way, but it raises some interesting questions for later development.

Buddha: I find that listening to my subconscious helps me deal with the real world. It lets me know where I stray. Then again, I am somewhat mad.

Shane: IIRC, you have young children. When I had one I only had time for work and trying to be a good parent, usually not in that order. And I only had one. Any free time was reserved for resting so I'd have plenty of energy to do the parenting/working thing some more. When your kids are teens you'll probably need to delve - they become aliens for at least one year, usually 13. ;p
