I crossed through the veil and kind of went wandering, with nothing in particular in mind, maybe a bit of adventure in seeing something new, but that was all.
I was walking around the edge of a great chasm, you could see a hint of shadowy land on the other side, but I felt oddly unable to just float across. I passed the rope bridge,
looking for the end of the fissure, and finding none decided to go back to it.
Something seemed to call me from the other side, like a dare. A silent voice was saying, you must see and experience this. It will intrigue, fascinate and strengthen you... if you can make your way across.
So I stepped onto the bridge, somewhat hesitant. Normally I would have no compunction, but the implication was that it was supposed to be dangerous.
About halfway across I began to feel much more confident, and picked up the pace. Soon I was running, forcing myself to overcome the remainder of apprehension that lingered. I had to see what mystery waited in the shadows ahead. Fear would not be my master.
At that moment the bridge began to sway, hovering over the abyss below I
held on and held still, hoping it would pass. Then one of the main ropes on the other side
snapped, whipping by my head with a whir as the tension released. The whole bridge, and in that moment it felt like the whole world, went tumbling down plank by plank into the chasm.
Like a stone, I fell through the blackness of the gulch and right back into my body, and sat
up in bed with a start. This was certainly a new experience for me. In over 20 years of
projecting into the astral I'd never seen anything quite like this.
What was on the other side? Why was I being prevented from seeing it? I had to go back immediately.
